Barrel Pro Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Barrel Pro ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Barrel Pro mobile application. By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information such as your email address and authentication credentials.
User-provided content such as horse names, rider names, run times, show names, locations, arena conditions, earnings, placing, and performance notes.
AI analysis data generated by the app including coaching insights, run metrics, split timing estimates, and analysis results.
Cloud storage preferences indicating whether you have chosen local-only storage, free run log cloud sync, or paid video cloud storage.
Consent records documenting when and how you agreed to or declined our privacy and data processing terms.
Technical information necessary for app functionality such as device platform and application diagnostics.

2. Video Processing and Storage

Barrel Pro offers two video-related options depending on the plan you choose during onboarding:

AI Analysis Only (Free): When you upload a video for AI coaching analysis, video frames are temporarily extracted and processed on our servers. The original video is not stored permanently on our servers after analysis is complete. Only the analysis results and related run data are saved to your account.
Video Cloud Storage ($5/month): If you choose the Video Storage + Run Logs plan, your uploaded videos are stored permanently and securely in Google Firebase Storage and linked to your run logs. You can access these videos from any device while logged into your account.

You select your storage preference during the app's onboarding flow and can change it at any time in Settings.

3. Cloud Storage Plans

Barrel Pro offers the following storage tiers:

Local Only (Free): All data is stored on your device only. No data is sent to our servers except for AI analysis processing.
Run Logs & History (Free): Your horses, riders, run logs, and AI analysis results are securely synced to Google Firestore and accessible from any device while signed in.
Video Storage + Run Logs & History ($5/month): Everything in the free cloud tier plus permanent video storage in Google Firebase Storage linked to your run logs.

4. How We Use Information

To provide AI-powered coaching and analysis features within the app.
To sync and display your run history and performance insights across devices.
To maintain and improve the functionality, reliability, and performance of the application.
To provide technical support when necessary.
To maintain consent audit records as required by applicable law.
To comply with legal obligations.

5. Third-Party Services

Barrel Pro uses the following third-party services to operate:

Google Firebase Authentication — manages secure user login and account management.
Google Firestore — stores run logs, horse profiles, rider profiles, and AI analysis results for users who choose cloud sync.
Google Firebase Storage — stores uploaded videos for users who choose the Video Storage plan.
Render — hosts the backend server that processes AI coaching analysis.
OpenAI — provides the AI language model used to generate coaching feedback from run data and video analysis.

These providers are only permitted to use data to perform services on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies.

6. Data Storage and Security

User data stored in Google Firebase is protected by Google's enterprise-grade security infrastructure.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect user data.
Despite these protections, no digital system can guarantee absolute security.
Data is stored in United States-based data centers.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information to any third party.
We do not share user data with third parties except as necessary to operate the application as described in Section 5.
We do not display advertisements and do not share data with advertising networks.

8. User Control and Data Deletion

You may delete all your cloud-stored run logs and videos at any time from the Settings screen using the "Delete All My Data" option.
Deletion removes your run logs, horse profiles, rider profiles, and stored videos from our servers.
Consent records are retained permanently even after data deletion. This is required by law to demonstrate that informed consent was properly obtained. Consent records include your email address, the date and time of consent, the privacy policy version you agreed to, and your storage preferences at the time of consent.

9. Consent and Preference Changes

You can review and update your privacy preferences at any time from the Settings screen, including:

Enabling or disabling AI coaching analysis.
Changing your cloud storage plan.
Requesting deletion of your stored data.

All consent changes are recorded with a timestamp for legal audit purposes.

10. Children's Privacy

The application is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law.
When material changes occur, the updated policy will be posted with a revised effective date.
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
